Arsenal Confirms Matt Turner As Third summer Signing, With Gabriel Jesus Underway.

Arsenal have officially announced the signing of Matt Turner as their new back-up goalkeeper, amidst anticipation of Gabriel Jesus’ upcoming official announcement.

Gabriel Jesus’ personal terms have reportedly been entirely agreed upon with his agent, Marcelo Pettinati, and his two partners, and Gabriel has signed a contract that will keep him with the club until 2027, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Arteta will be hoping that Jesus, a Brazil international, will provide his team an extra edge in attack since the player has long been recognized as a priority target for Arteta.

Marquinhos, a Brazilian winger, and Fabio Vieira, a Portuguese midfielder, have already made their debuts for Arsenal.

Turner is their third official acquisition for the summer window at this point. According to, a contract for the excellent shot-stopper was finalized in January.

The North London club had not yet made the 28-year-old public, but he has already been photographed clutching their 2022–23 goalie jersey.

The American goalkeeper has completed a deal that will see him join the Premier League right away after agreeing to transfer to the Emirates back in February.

The 28-year-old was widely expected to complete his move after Major League Soccer club New England Revolution confirmed an agreement with the Gunners as early as February.

Arsenal have now officially announced the signing of Turner, who joins Marquinhos, a talented Brazilian attacker, and Fabio Vieira, a Portugal Under-21 international, as their summer signings.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta stated of Matt, “Matt is an experienced goalkeeper who will contribute excellent quality to our group.

He has proven that he is a goalkeeper who will provide us added strength moving into next season with his performances in recent years in both the MLS and at the international level with the United States. The coach said.

“We cordially welcome Matt and his family to the club and anticipate collaborating with them in the future.” He added

With Aaron Ramsdale replacing Bernd Leno as the top announcer at the Emirates Stadium after Leno’s departure for Sheffield United last summer, Turner’s arrival raises more concerns about Leno’s future there.

Recently, Fulham have been connected to Leno, and Turner is now anticipated to support Ramsdale in that capacity.

Turner joined the Revolution in 2016 and has since made over 100 appearances for the team.

He has also earned 18 senior US national team caps and contributed to Gregg Berhalter’s team’s qualification for the 2022 World Cup, where they will play England and Wales in the group stage.

Bernd Leno, who was anticipated to depart the club, is still on the roster at the Emirates Stadium, where he will compete with Turner for the No. 1 spot in Arteta’s side.

It has been revealed that Turner will don the No. 30 jersey at the Emirates Stadium.

Eddie Nkeitah, who recently extended his contract with the Gunners, chose to take over the No. 14 jersey previously worn by club star Thierry Henry, so he inherits it from him.

When it comes to filling the No. 30 slot in Arsenal’s roster, Turner will also be following in the footsteps of players like Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Yossi Benayoun, and Jeremie Aliadiere.

Jesus, a Brazilian player who is close to joining Arsenal in north London, suggests that the club’s summer activity will likely continue in the days to come.

According to reports, he has reached an agreement on a five-year contract at the Emirates that will pay him around £190,000.

He has chosen to forgo playing in the Champions League in order to take over as Arsenal’s new attack’s focal point.

Raphina, a forward for Leeds, has also been linked with a transfer to North London.
