Casemiro Agrees On A Four-year Deal With Manchester United

Casemiro has agreed to a four-year contract with Manchester United and Real Madrid has accepted every aspect of Manchester United’s offer per Fabrizio Romano.

With Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni purchase, Manchester United’s negotiations to sign Casemiro from the Champions League winners have met very little resistance.

The teams are currently drafting the contract. The signing of the 30-year-old Brazil international for €60 million plus €10 million in add-ons has advanced in negotiations with United.

Casemiro is scheduled to get a medical today in preparation for what is likely to be a switch from Real Madrid to Manchester United over the next few days.

Following his emergence as a top target for Erik ten Hag, who appears to have missed out on the signings of both Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot in recent weeks, Casemiro reportedly notified Real Madrid of his wish to join United earlier on Thursday.

Casemiro’s services have only recently come to the attention of Manchester United, and it appears that negotiations are progressing quite speedily.

According to sources, United tried to expedite the agreement in an effort to sign Casemiro before Liverpool’s Monday night match, but that is unlikely because he would also need to get a work visa.

Reports also hold that Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, is “not concerned” about losing Casemiro, a five-time Champions League champion with Real.

In addition to Luka Modric signing a contract extension, Real have added midfielders Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni from France over the past year.

The signing of Casemiro will mark a significant change for United, as manager Erik ten Hag preferred to recruit Frenkie de Jong over a defensive midfielder.

Since Nemanja Matic left United at the conclusion of his contract in June, they have been without a true defensive midfielder, and it has shown in their embarrassing losses to Brentford and Brighton.

Raphael Varane and Angel di Maria were previously purchased by United from Madrid.

Di Maria, a £59.7 million British record acquisition in 2014, only stayed at the club for one season since his preferred destination was Paris Saint-Germain.

Varane, 29, joined last year for a price that rose to £43 million, although he only made 29 appearances due to injuries, and he started this season on the bench.

Ten Hag is expected to recall Varane for the match against Liverpool after United were thrashed 4-0 by Brentford last week.

According to reports, Casemiro had been considering the rich offer from United for the past few days.

Apparently, he has now come around to the notion of moving from Madrid to Manchester, with personal terms having been settled upon by both the player and the club.

Even if Casemiro is still committed to Real Madrid until the summer of 2025 until the agreed new deal is completed, they do not intend to obstruct his move.

The Dutchman has been desperate to acquire a new midfielder since taking over at United earlier this summer.

Casemiro’s presence at Old Trafford would undoubtedly alleviate one of the many concerns Ten Hag will have throughout this season.
