Cesc Fabregas Joins Serie B Side Como On A Free Move

Cesc Fabregas has signed a two-year contract with Como, who are rapidly improving under the leadership of former Blues executive Dennis Wise.

The World Cup-winning midfielder Cesc Fabregas has completed a transfer to Serie B side Como, and he has stated his desire to help the up-and-coming team into Italy’s top division.

The rumors of his possible move had previously broken a few weeks prior, but it has now been verified.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 35-year-old World Cup champion arrived at the Como stadium on Monday during lunchtime to sign a two-year contract.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea player, who has been a free agent since leaving Monaco in June, has signed a two-year contract that will keep him playing into the age of 36.

The Spain veteran also stated that, despite the outside appearance that his career is coming to an end, he is “trying to create a long-term future” at the club, both on and off the field.

The 35-year-departure old’s from Monaco, where he was without a contract, has been confirmed.

And his name can be found in the section of Serie B’s website displaying new approved contracts.

Following an auction, SENT Entertainment, a British firm with financial backing from the largest tobacco corporation in Indonesia, Djarum, acquired the bankrupt Como in 2017.

At the time, they were playing in Serie D, and two years later, former Chelsea midfielder Dennis Wise was hired as the club’s CEO.

Since then, their ascent has been steady, but the capture of Fabregas is their most important proclamation to date.

Fabregas declared, “It is a pleasure and an honor to join Como 1907. I consider myself really lucky that my job has allowed me to play at such beautiful clubs. Como is no different.

After in-depth discussions with Mirwan, Dennis, and Charlie, they provided a detailed explanation of one of the most interesting and ambitious football ventures.

This is why I want to establish a long-term career here, both on and off the field.

I have made the decision to invest personally in order to contribute to the greater picture since I have always believed in the goal.

I am really excited to take the field and play in front of the crowd in this gorgeous location.

It’s encouraging to see how the owners want to advance this club given its history, foundation, and infrastructure. I am eager to begin.”

The team was linked to a bid for Jack Wilshere, another former midfielder for Arsenal, in January but were unable to finalize the deal due to European Union red tape.

“It gives us great pleasure to present and bring such a humble, polite individual to our football team, “said Wise, whose reputation as a cunning businessman is greatly enhanced in northern Italy.

“He is player who has accomplished a great deal in football and is now an essential component of our grand plans for Como 1907.”

Fabregas, who made his Arsenal debut at the age of 16, is leaving top-flight football for the first time in 19 years.

One of the best midfielders of his time, Fabregas unfortunately experienced his prime when Xavi Hernandez and Andreas Iniesta overshadowed his talent for the Spanish national team.
