Erik Ten Hag Calls Out Cristiano Ronaldo’s Actions As Unacceptable

After Erik Ten Hag openly criticized the Cristiano Ronaldo’s weekend behavior, the two men’s relationship has reached an all-time low.

The 37-year-old’s future at United is in doubt amid rumors that he wants to go to play for a team in the Champions League for the upcoming season.

He had played in the opening period against the Spaniards.

On Sunday, during his first warm-up game, he was observed clashing with manager Erik ten Hag both during the game and before being replaced at halftime.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo was seen departing Old Trafford during the first half of Sunday’s friendly match against Rayo Vallecano.

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag deemed the forward’s early exit “unacceptable.”

According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo is furious with Erik ten Hag for criticizing him for leaving the exhibition game against Rayo Vallecano early last weekend.

The pair’s relationship is thought to have reached an all-time low, and Ronaldo is now even more keen to leave Old Trafford before the transfer window shuts.

Despite United’s refusal to penalize the superstar earning £500,000 a week, Ten Hag was unimpressed and criticized Ronaldo’s actions.

He stated: “I most definitely oppose this. This must change for everybody. You must stick around till the end because we are a team”

According to the Daily Star Sport, Ronaldo is upset with his manager.

The negative feedback might be the deciding factor for Ronaldo, who has told United’s managers that he wants to leave and join a team that can give him Champions League football.

Ronaldo still has one year left on his contract, and United has refused to trade him.

Showdown negotiations between Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent, and club executives took place last week but nothing has happened.

Since Ronaldo skipped the team’s preseason tours of Thailand and Australia and failed to return to preseason training, tensions between the club and player have been building.

Ronaldo was granted time off for personal reasons and stayed in Lisbon despite the fact that he had initially opposed Ten Hag’s appointment.

The most recent fallout will have a significant impact on Ten Hag’s final preparations for Sunday’s home Premier League opener against Brighton.

Ten Hag has stated unequivocally that he expects Ronaldo to honor his contract and remain with United for the upcoming season.

The Premier League opener this weekend against Brighton, however, is expected to have Ronaldo on the bench, according to reports.

At Old Trafford, the starting lineup for the game will be Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford.

Ronaldo has played in just one preseason game so far this summer, missing United’s recent preseason trips to Thailand and Australia while he attended to a family matter.

Only last week, after additional discussions regarding his future with his agent, Jorge Mendes, did he return to training.
