Gary Neville shares unreserved Marcus Rashford comments following his stellar performance in Man United’s 2-0 victory vs Burnley

Marcus Rashford has received plaudits from Gary Neville for his positive outlook following his goal-scoring return for Manchester United on Wednesday night.

For Manchester United, Marcus Rashford returned with a bang as they easily defeated Burnley in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

After a terrible year, Rashford, who played a key role in England’s journey to the World Cup quarterfinals earlier this month, has found his form again this season.

Before Erik ten Hag joined the United team, the 25-year-old was a peripheral player and even had a transfer away from Old Trafford last season.

Ten Hag, who earlier in the season emphasized that he wanted to see Rashford playing with a grin on his face again, has seen success with the United Academy graduate.

Neville, a former United fan favorite, was analyzing United’s 2-0 Carabao Cup victory against Burnley when he saw Rashford’s upbeat demeanor and praised the striker’s optimistic outlook.

“I think it is the hardest of the positions on the right that Marcus plays,” Neville told Sky Sports. “He excels in the middle and, without a doubt, on the left.

I believe it can be challenging for him on the right, but he seems more motivated and eager to play there right now, and he makes the best of it.

He seemed generally content during the warm-up, and he appeared eager to return.

When you consider how the World Cup will have affected some of these teams, you can picture the Brazilian players as well as some of the English players who lost in the quarterfinal matches.

He has returned and is content, so I believe this is a fantastic exhibition game before returning to the Premier League.”

Ten Hag, the former Ajax manager, voiced his excitement to work with Rashford despite the forward’s low reputation when he first arrived at United back in the summer.

Rashford has undoubtedly taken advantage of his chance for a new beginning under a new management team at Old Trafford.

He has thrived in his preferred position as a center striker, scoring nine goals in 20 games. Ten Hag anticipated that Rashford would regain his form if he began to enjoy playing football once more.

In October, he stated, “On the first day, I told him, ‘I want to see you smile every day.’ We promised to set up the training sessions, but it will be up to you to enjoy them and give them your all. When you are under pressure when training, you will perform at your best.”
