Harry Kane, the captain of England, has been linked with leaving Tottenham Hotspur, with Bayern Munich reportedly interested in signing the 29-year-old striker.
In light of recent speculation linking Bayern Munich with a bid for England captain Joe Hart, the Tottenham Hotspur striker can “see” playing for the German champions.
Hasan Salihamidzic, the director of sports for Bayern Munich, recently downplayed rumors of interest in the 29-year-old.
Others at the club, however, have provided differing responses regarding a player whose present contract in north London continues through 2024.
After Robert Lewandowski’s summer transfer to Barcelona, the Bundesliga team might be lacking a veteran striker in their lineup.
A player of Kane’s caliber may provide something different.
Newcomer Mathys Tel scored his first league goal over the weekend, becoming Bayern’s youngest-ever league striker in the process.
Bayern are initially waiting to see how the current front line performs under manager Julian Nagelsmann, according to Sky Sports.
But if there are any indications of trouble, Kane might get a move.
There have allegedly already been internal discussions at Bayern over the necessity for a number nine to take Lewandowski’s spot.
In addition, Kane’s agent and brother Charlie have been contacted, according to Sky, and the player “can truly envisage joining Bayern.”
Nagelsmann’s team is in the exceptional circumstance of entering a season without Lewandowski for the first time since 2013 without a target man in their lineup.
They have strengthened their attack, though, with the £45 million arrivals of Tel and Sadio Mane.
When he scored against Fulham on September 3, Kane achieved 188 Premier League goals and scored his 250th goal for Tottenham this season.
Oliver Kahn, the CEO of Bayern, was questioned about the striker back in July and didn’t rule out a trade.
“He is unquestionably a top striker, but it is all a vision for the future, so let’s wait and see.”
Although he held back from claiming that a bid was in the works, Nagelsmann was also glowing in his appreciation for the striker. The issue, according to the manager, is that Kane is extremely pricey.
He is one of only two or three players who can play as a center striker, yet he is a superb player. He has played more like a No. 10 over the past few years.
But Kane is incredibly powerful and skilled with both feet and the head. In the Bundesliga, he could score a lot of goals.
Bayern have scored 19 goals in their first six Bundesliga games this season with their revamped offense.
That hasn’t been enough to keep them atop the table as three straight draws have kept them in third place, two points behind league leaders Union Berlin.
