Kylian Mbappe contract’s ‘walk-out clause’ comes to light raising speculation over his future

Despite signing a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain during the summer transfer window, it is now being asserted that Kylian Mbappe will have the option of deciding whether to extend it past 2024.

After it seemed almost likely that Mbappe would leave the Parc des Princes, the mystery surrounding him became one of the biggest tales of the summer.

The French international is said to have agreed to a deal with Real Madrid, only to change his mind at the last minute and decide to stay with PSG.

After signing his new contract, Mbappe informed the PSG supporters, “I am really glad to stay with PSG in France.”

“Paris is my home, as I’ve always stated. I hope we can keep playing football and competing for championships. I appreciate everything.

I’m hoping to keep doing things the way I like to with all of you. and triumph together! Many thanks.”

However, L’Equipe claims that the remaining 12 months of Mbappe’s new deal will be at his choice.

With a guarantee only running until 2024, contrary to original reports that stated his new contract stretched through the summer of 2025.

That would imply that by the time next summer arrives, the 23-year-old is once again in a position where he might be a free agent in a year.

Real Madrid tried to take advantage of that circumstance in 2021, but the Ligue 1 champions rejected their offer of a world record of €220 million.

And since Mbappe hasn’t ruled out the potential of a future transfer, rumors about where he might go have already begun. He will be able to go for free in 2024.

Madrid will definitely continue to be the favorites, especially after Mbappe, a lifelong Real Madrid supporter, declined to rule out a move to the Bernabeu.

The New York Times quoted him as saying, “You never know what is going to happen.”

Florentino Perez, the club’s outspoken president, went so far as to imply that he no longer wanted Mbappe, who chose to remain in Paris.

“I never claimed that Mbappe’s relationship with Real Madrid was permanently over. Never have I said that. Many things can change in three years. But this Mbappé is not what I want.”

In the meantime, manager Carlo Ancelotti responded to the latest round of rumors in a frustrated manner. “I’m done! I give up on that one,” the Italian exclaimed.

Many people hope that by the time Mbappe’s future is truly decided, he will choose to compete for major championships at the pinnacle of European football.

Kylian Mbappe has also acknowledged having conversations about joining the Premier League, but with Liverpool.
