Pep Guardiola sends his players a warning following Man City’s further Premier League drop behind Arsenal

After another setback to Manchester City’s Premier League charge on New Year’s Eve, Pep Guardiola has warned his players to be aware of their body language.

Despite having 22 games remaining to play this season, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are currently seven points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.

After failing to beat relegation-threatened Everton at the Etihad, the defending champions have fallen seven points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Erling Haaland gave Guardiola’s team the lead, but Demarai Gray’s incredible goal kept the score at 1-1.

Arsenal defeated Brighton 4-2 at the Amex on the same day, taking advantage of City’s dismal performance.

Given that there are still 22 games to go, Guardiola hasn’t given up on the title battle. In addition, City will play the Gunners twice before the season’s final month.

Guardiola, though, has high expectations for his glitzy team in the upcoming weeks. The Premier League’s strongest team is undoubtedly Manchester City, one of the richest teams in the world, and they are the favorites to win their fifth championship in as many years come May.

Knowing this, Guardiola has instructed his team that if they want to start, they must establish their value.

“You cannot perform well if the body language is incorrect; therefore, I have been paying more attention to it lately—possibly because I am getting older.

Sometimes I choose people based on their body language, how content they appear to be, and how they are acting. When I choose the lineup, this is one of my key considerations.

They possess the abilities I am aware of, and they are aware of our objectives. However, their body language varies, and occasionally they are not excellent.”

Over the following five weeks, City’s chances of winning the Premier League title will be tested when they play Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham. On February 15, they will face Arsenal for the first time at the Emirates.

Before the end of January, the Gunners will play Newcastle, Tottenham, and Manchester United, making for a challenging schedule for them.

If Arsenal remains seven points ahead of City after their respective matches, they will be considered the real deal.

This season, Guardiola’s team is still capable of winning all four major tournaments. Three days after their Premier League match, they play Chelsea in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday. On January 11, they travel to Southampton for the Carabao Cup quarterfinal.
