Chelsea’s dressing room, according to reports, has urged manager Thomas Tuchel to acquire Richarlison as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
And are also reportedly spurring the club’s administration to choose to sign the Everton forward ahead of Arsenal and Tottenham.
In addition to losing Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and Romelu Lukaku already this summer, Thomas Tuchel’s team is still searching for their first addition.
Richarlison, meanwhile, is eager to leave Everton and has piqued the interest of numerous Premier League teams.
Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is about to sign a season-long loan deal with Inter Milan, prompting Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel to search for a new forward.
After a poor campaign under Tuchel last season, the 29-year-old Belgian international is likely to return to Inter Milan on a season-long loan.
Since joining the Blues last August for £97.5 million from Inter, he has only scored eight Premier League goals.
Lukaku has accepted a significant pay cut from his weekly salary of £325,000 to £210,000 as part of the £7 million loan agreement between Inter and Chelsea.
The striker had a productive last stint at Inter, tallying 64 goals in 95 games.
Chelsea will need to find a replacement for Lukaku, and the team has reportedly asked Tuchel to sign Richarlison, per The Sun.
One of the best Premier League players not currently playing for one of the so-called “Big Six” clubs is the Everton talisman, 25, who is regarded as one of the league’s best players.
Since joining the club in the summer of 2018, Richarlison has netted 53 goals in 152 games for the Toffees.
He was instrumental in keeping Frank Lampard’s team in the Premier League last season, and he even scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 home victory over Chelsea.
Richarlison is a seasoned international who will likely serve as the captain of Brazil’s World Cup attempt this summer.
He was a member of the team that won the 2019 Copa America and gold at the summer Olympics in Japan. Brazil is one of the favorites to win the World Cup.
In light of Lukaku’s impending departure, Chelsea are rumored to be considering a number of attacking options.
Including Raheem Sterling of Manchester City and Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona. Richarlison, however, seems to be the team’s top choice for a target.
The Brazilian reportedly wants out of Everton and would be able to play Champions League football if he transferred to Stamford Bridge.
His current contract has two years left in it. Richarlison has played for Watford, Fluminense, and America Mineiro in the past.
Following the departure of director Marina Granovskaia, Tuchel is anticipated to have more influence over transfers this summer.
Following weeks of rumors, Chelsea have officially confirmed the transfer guru will leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
The announcement comes less than a month after Todd Boehly’s group successfully acquired the Premier League team.
While a new hierarchy is established, Boehly will serve as the interim sporting director in place of longtime chairman Bruce Buck.
In line with Chelsea FC’s illustrious past, Boehly said, “As custodians of Chelsea FC, we now begin executing our long-term vision and plan for the Club.
Creating an outstanding experience for its passionate, devoted fans, and continuing to challenge for top honors.
We are steadfastly committed to succeeding both on and off the field by working together, side by side.
We thank Marina for her many years of excellent service to the club and wish her the best in her future endeavors. For us, that effort has already started.”
