Victor Osimhen shares his stance on his future at Napoli amidst continued Man United interest

Despite interest from a number of clubs, including Manchester United, Victor Osimhen has stated that it is up to Napoli to decide what will happen to him.

After scoring 18 goals in Serie A this season, Victor Osimhen has talked about leaving Napoli in the summer. Manchester United and Chelsea have expressed interest.

Osimhen, 24, has contributed to Napoli’s 15-point advantage at the top of the table with 18 goals in 19 Serie A outings this season.

Osimhen’s outstanding track record has prompted teams like United and Chelsea to investigate him further.

Although both Premier League teams are in need of a new striker, the Nigerian international is not eager to talk about his future while his team is in the thick of the Serie A title fight.

Osimhen is content that the team will decide on his future at the end of the current campaign. Given that he has two and a half years left on his contract, this coming summer might be the ideal opportunity for Napoli to make a profit.

It also means that they are not being forced to sell. The prolific striker talked about his future in a recent ESPN interview. “When you are doing so well, big clubs from all around the world, primarily in the top five leagues, are watching,” he remarked.

“And the fact that these elite clubs are showing interest in me proves how well I’m doing, which inspires me to keep improving for both my team and myself.

However, Naples has the final say, and they are my current point of concentration. I merely want to assist my team in winning games and championships.

We’ll find out what happens at the end of the season, but it’s not my decision. The club will make the decision.”

It is simple to understand why Osimhen is having a good time in Naples. Due to his impressive total, he is in a strong position to take home the Serie A Golden Boot and the championship.

Lautaro Martinez, who has 13 league goals for Inter Milan, is his main rival for the Golden Boot. Napoli has won seven straight Serie A games, including a 5-1 triumph over Juventus.

All season, they have only lost five league points. In addition, Napoli stands a decent chance of taking home the Champions League.

They defeated Liverpool 4-1 at home to finish first in their group, and they now face Eintracht Frankfurt in the round of 16. Tuesday night is the opening leg, which takes place in Germany.

Following a contentious interview with Piers Morgan in November last year, Cristiano Ronaldo left the club by mutual consent, making it clear that United needed to find a new striker.

Wout Weghorst replaced Ronaldo in January, but only temporarily. In his first six Premier League games for the Red Devils, the 30-year-old international from the Netherlands was scoreless, and it seems unlikely that his loan agreement would be extended permanently.

Even if it happens, United will still need to add a talented forward. Although Osimhen would be a good fit, other clubs will be vying for his signing.
